     1. University of Lagos (178 First Class Graduates)



The authorities of the University of Lagos said 178 students would be graduating with first class division during its 2014/2015 convocation scheduled to start March 1.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rahmon Bello, announced this at a news conference to kick start the activities lined up for the institution’s 48th convocation.

Mr. Bello, giving a breakdown of the graduating students, said that 10,907 students would be graduating from the various faculties.

2. University of Maiduguri (172 First Class Graduates)




“The university will finally hold its 22nd convocation and 40th anniversary for the award of degrees, diplomas and certificates.

“Summary for the statistics of undergraduate students shows that a total of 37,259 will be graduating. It is gratifying to note that 172 students obtained First Class degrees in the five sets that we are graduating.” Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi said



3. University of Ilorin (67 First Class Graduates)
The University of Ilorin, during its 31st convocation ceremony which coincided with the 40th anniversary of the institution graduated a total number of 6,710 students.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali, 1,392 bagged Second Class (Upper Division), 2,884 got Second Class (lower division), adding that 932 were awarded Third Class while 82 got Pass.

While speaking on the issue of admission quota the Vice Chancellor said, "We want to improve access to education, but we can't compromise quality. Also, the NUC is the body controlling the admission. We have to abide by the rules set. There are other good universities in the country. I can only assure parents that the Federal Government will increase facilities that will enable us to admit more students."


4. University of benin (64 First Class Graduates)

University of Benin, UNIBEN will graduate not fewer than 6,000 first degree students in its 41st convocation ceremony. Out of that number, 64 are graduating with first class degrees.

The management of the University of Benin on Monday said that no fewer than 64 graduands of the university would be awarded with first class degrees at its 41st convocation and Founder’s Day ceremonies


5. University of Ibadan (53 First Class Graduates)
 Fifty-three students graduated with first class degrees from the University of Ibadan (UI) out of 2,362 graduands in Ibadan on Friday.
The first class graduates emerged from the institution’s Faculties of Arts, Science, Clinical Science and Public Health.
Prof. Emilolorun Ayelari, the Acting. Vice-Chancellor of the university disclosed this at the 67th Foundation Day and Convocation 2015 held at the International Conference Centre in Ibadan.
Fourteen of the 53 first class graduates were of the Faculty of Arts, 32 from Faculty of Science, one each from Clinical Science, Public Health, Distance Learning and four from affiliate institutions.
Mr. Ayelari said 494 had Second Class (Upper Division), 822 secured Second Class (Lower Division), 185 had Third Class, 40 in the Pass category, 177 from unclassified degrees and 48 diplomas.
He said the 53 first class graduates had become UI scholars, adding that the university would bear the cost of their studies up till their doctorate (PhD) degrees
